Gormanstown choristers in recording of The Crucifixion
Two members of the Gormanstown Choir have taken part in a virtual recording for Holy Week of The Crucifixion by John Stainer, presented by the the Church of Ireland Parish Choirs, writes Brian Byrne.
The hour-long production is available on Youtube, in association with Church Music Dublin and Big Red Box Media Ltd.
Dorly and Barney O'Sullivan are among 77 choristers from all over Ireland who took part in the recording, which also features tenor Rev Jack Kinkead and Bass Brian Hennessey. The organist is Dr David O'Shea and the production was directed by Kevin O'Sullivan of Kilternan Parish Church in Dublin.
The Virtual Choir was rehearsed on Zoom by Kevin O'Sullivan, Tom Maxwell and Suzanne Chadwick and the audio was recorded with the Virtual Choir Recorder and videos created by the choristers.
