Public consultation on Transport Strategy for Greater Dublin
Members of the public and local organisations are being asked to contribute to a review of the Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area, writes Brian Byrne.
The review, by the National Transport Authority, is focused on Dublin, Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. It is looking at the status of the current 2016-2035 plan, with a view to updating it for 2022-2042. An Issues Paper has been prepared and can be downloaded here.
Among the considerations are Adapting to a post-Covid life in the Greater Dublin Area; Delivering a sustainable transport network which meets climate change requirements; and Looking to the future when it comes to transport technologies and new transport options such as electric bikes and scooters.
Closing date for submissions, which can be made using a feedback form at the NTA website, is Friday 22 January 2021.
