How Tony Kirwan song hit top spot on iTunes
Newbridge-based singer-songwriter Tony Kirwan is a familiar on the Kilcullen pubs music scene in normal times, and was a friend and music-collaborator with the late Jimmy Aspell, writes Brian Byrne. He has also written for Kilcullen singer Edel Mac Aodh.
In the first weeks of this year, a song written by Tony and sung by Amy Rowlett reached the top of the iTunes charts in Ireland. How that particular collaboration and the song 'Sutton Bay' made its amazing journey is featured in this week's Kildare Nationalist.
Worth a read for Kilcullen's music fans.
