Nativities event a great success
The gallery of Nativities which have been on display for the last two weeks raised €737.18 in donations, which were distributed between Parish Funds and the Maintain Hope charity, writes Brian Byrne.
The organisers, Lorraine and Ger Kelly and family, and the recipients of the funds, have expressed their appreciation for the generosity of those who donated.
"It was also a great success as a display, with a constant stream of people coming to view it," Ger told the Diary. "Many people came back a second time, others stayed for a period to meditate amongst the exhibits."
There were over 100 Nativity scenes in the display, and others have since been acquired as a result of the event.
A Diary video of some of the displays has also been well visited, and it was also used as a focus for discussion in a class at Loreto on the Green in Dublin.
