Local news on Level 5 for business and community


8 JANUARY

Bardons is now open for takeaway meals, for collection between 4pm-8.30pm this evening. Phone 045 482286 from 1pm. Menu available here

Woodbine Books can no longer offer a 'click and collect' service, due to the most recent Level 5 restrictions. Orders for posting, or for delivery within 5kms of the shop, can still be made. All requests will be dealt with from Tuesday-Thursday each week, between 10am-4pm. Urgent requests by emailing woodbinebooks@gmail.com with 'URGENT' in the subject line.

7 JANUARY

Animals First Veterinary Hospital: Due to the continued covid restrictions we are still working on a reduced hour rota and opening times may vary. Our door is locked to maintain social distance. On arrival please call reception to let us know you are outside for your appointment or medication. Please call ideally 2-3 days in advance for food and medication. If you have any issues please call us on 045 480478.

Armelle's Kitchen is an essential business under the current Covid restriction guidelines and can stay open as normal. We are happy to deliver locally for free, so please don’t hesitate to ask. Also if you know of someone who might benefit from receiving deliveries feel free to pass our details on to them.

Fallons: Fallons shop will be open for collection this Saturday 9th January from 11am till 3pm. Food must be preordered on Friday as this weeks offering is limited in both variety and quantity. Four most popular take home dishes — Fish pie €11; Roast vegetables €2.50; Beef stroganoff. €10; Fragrant rice €2.50. Please contact this email info@fallonb.ie for orders.

River Cafe: We are changing our opening hours for Level 5. Now open 10am to 2.30pm Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sunday

4 JANUARY

Dunleas:
Classed as an essential service, Dunleas will remain open for vehicle servicing during Level 5 Lockdown. In addition the following services will be available: Digital Showroom online at https://www.dunleasofkilcullen.com; New & Used Cars Available; Kia 2021 Offers Available; Personalised Videos of all our stock; Click & Collect on on Vehicles; Apply for Finance Online; Value your vehicle online. For all sales enquires please email sales@dunleasofkilcullen.com.

Woodbine Books: Due to the current Level 5 restrictions, the shop is currently operating a limited service behind closed doors. Orders can either be collected from the bookshop at a prearranged time, posted or delivered within a 5km radius.

Kildare County Council: With Level 5 COVID19 restrictions now in place access to our public offices is restricted to appointment only and should be limited to urgent and necessary business.

Parish Lotto: There will be no Parish Lotto Draw until further notice. This is due to the Level 5 restrictions for coronavirus, and for the health and safety of Lotto staff and Lotto sellers and customers.

1 JANUARY

Pre-Schools to stay closed:
Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD, has announced that the resumption of the pre-school programme will be postponed until 11 January. Early learning and childcare services, including childminders that provide services other than, or in addition to, the pre-school programme, can continue to operate. These services provide an essential service which supports parents to go to work.

Spout Kilcullen: Open today (Friday) till 8pm for delivery and collection. Open tomorrow 4-9pm and Sunday 4-8pm.

Armelle's Kitchen: Restarting their daily savoury menu on Tuesday 5 January.

Nichola C Kennedy FAOI Optometrist: We will re-open Monday Jan 4th at 9.30am and will be operating a normal diary but must be by appointment for contact tracing purposes and to manage the number of people in the practice at one time. So business as usual for us, with all the necessary PPE, masks and sanitisers. If you need an eye exam you can book online  but please defer or reschedule if you have any symptoms of covid-19 or if you are a close contact of a confirmed case.

An Garda Síochána: Reminder to all that Gardaí are available to assist the vulnerable and elderly people living alone. Please contact your local Garda Station if you, or someone you know of, needs assistance. Thank you for continuing to comply with the health guidelines and restrictions.

Clarkes Menswear Newbridge: Due to the Level 5 restrictions we will be closing our doors once again from 4pm 31 December 2020. We will be reverting back to the Call and Collect/Dropoff system we had before. Any size changes or returns can also be made. Kilcullen Community Centre: Due to Level 5 Government restrictions unfortunately we have to close our Centre and All Weather Pitch until the end of January (or until restrictions ease), writes Community Centre manager Enda O'Neill.
