Mac & Norman total passes half a million

The virtual Mac and Norman Rally 2020, which replaced the usual full event in August, raised €12,000, writes Brian Byrne.

This means that over 18 years of the fundraising event, more than €500,000 has been raised for the Irish Cancer Society.

The money from this year's event included contributions from a purely local rally as well as donations from many of those from further afield who would normally travel to Brannockstown take part physically in the rally.

A JustGiving page was set up to help gather donations, and a number of items were also sold online.

The organisers have expressed a 'huge thank you' to all who donated. "Absolutely amazing in these strange times."
