Logstown footpaths 'should be repaired before Christmas'
Repairing of the footpaths at Logstown are to be prioritised, following the appointment of a contractor to carry out LPT-funded works there and at Avondale, as well as Brannockstown and Grangemore, writes Brian Byrne.
Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer says she asked for the Logstown works to be done before Christmas, as the surfaces are particularly bad and there are a number of older people on the road.
"We're coming into the bad weather time and it's important to get that section done, and I've been promised that it will be," she told the Diary this morning.
The other schemes are likely to be carried out early in the new year. The appointment of the successful contractor was confirmed to members of the Kildare Newbridge MD at their monthly meeting yesterday.
