Kilcullen sports clubs — you've been framed

An initiative at the Kilcullen Community Centre is aimed at displaying the shirts of all the sports organisations that operate in Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne.

The shirts have been framed by Niamh O'Connor, with inscribed plaques by Joe O'Connor, and are lining the main corridor walls.

To date eight have been mounted — St Bridget's Pitch and Putt, Kilcullen Badminton Club, Kilcullen Bowls Club, Kilcullen Boxing Club, Cross and Passion College, Larrie Birds Basketball, No 1 Fitness, and St Anthony's AFC.

"We're still waiting on two GAA — Ladies and Mens, Kilcullen AFC, Kilcullen Cycling Club and Kilcullen Tennis Club," says Centre manager Enda O'Neill. "When we have them all, they'll be a very colourful part of the centre. I think our clubs should all be recognised."
