Be Winter Ready booklet worth having

Winter has already huffed its chilly breath and it's time to take some precautions in homes and businesses to make sure we get through it safely, writes Brian Byrne.

There's a booklet available from the Government, Be Winter Ready, which brings together advice on dealing with weather, winter-proofing our home and lifestyle, and managing emergencies. Part of it also deals with making sure our motoring is safer.

Keeping healthy, especially for those older or vulnerable, is a key section, adapted for the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are also emergency contacts, and more. The whole publication is clear and simply written, and well worth having around the house. You can download it here.
