Food choices for the weekend

Tasty stuff from Kalbarri and Crean's Place.

Some changes to regular Saturday morning food events  include the suspension of the Saturday brunches at Kalbarri, for the next few weeks, writes Brian Byrne. But the regular open air Bake Shop remains in full swing, from 9am.

As well as the baking, family meal offerings this week include Lasagne for four for €32, Chicken Prosecco and Spicy Potatoes for four for €40, and Beef Pie topped with Puff Pastry for four for €40. Meals should be pre-ordered at 087 2932501.

Bardons and The Brown Bear are both doing takeaway meals, check their Facebook pages for menus. And Fallons Beer Garden is open for lunch and through the afternoon, while their Gourmet Garage shop has a range of ready-to-heat meals.

The Irish Makers Market will again be at the Leinster Marts car park today, but starting at the later time of 11am. It will include baking specialities from Crean's Place.

Also keep an eye on Armelle's Kitchen Facebook for their daily savoury and sweet proposals, and a takeaway Breakfast Box from The Final Furlong is another potential heartwarming winner — there are now four outside tables available there.

Then the River Cafe, as always, open for eating outside even if they can't have people in at the moment. For the duration of Level 3 they are opening on Sunday mornings through to the afternoon.
