Food for the longest weekend


It's the longest weekend of the year, by an hour, so people might get a bit more hungry, writes Brian Byrne.

The food possibilities today include Bardons Takeaway, where phone orders can be placed from 1pm to 045 482286, with collection 4pm-8pm. 

Fallons have their Gourmet Garage shop stacked with chilli chicken; sweet and sour pork; beef stroganoff; lamb tagine; vegan chilli; roast beef; and much much more. Open Wednesday to Sunday 11am-5pm. 

Kalbarri Cookery has Beef pie, lemon meringue, quiche, and the new cheesecake brownie all from Kalbarri Bakeshop with lots more, open today 9am-2pm. 

Crean's Place Bakery will be at the Kilcullen Leinster Mart today from 10:30 to 12:30 for take-away sourdoughs, bread, pastries as well as John's milk and eggs. Kindly bring your bread bags, containers, milk bottles and egg cartons please. 

Armelle's Kitchen has Chicken & Mushroom Pie €8; Beef & Guinness Pie €9; Vegetable Lasagne €7; Beef Stroganoff with Rice €9; and more.
