Daragh's latest lines commended in the west

Kilcullen born and reared Daragh Byrne continues to hone his skills as a poet, in Sydney where he has lived for a number of years, writes Brian Byrne. (Full Disclosure: he is also my nephew.)

His work is growing a serious audience, around the world thanks to the facility of the internet. One of his latest successes, 'Livestock Auction', is a tour de force of imagery, memoir and atmosphere. It is among the Highly Commended entrants in the Westport Music + Arts Festival — Westival — Poetry Competition 2020. No mean achievement in an event which has been running since the 1970s.
