2019 a busy year for Citizens Information Services

A total of 564,391 people called to the Citizens Information Services in 2019, according to the Annual Report of the Citizens Information Board published during the week, writes Brian Byrne.

The organisation's website Citizensinformation.ie had over 12.5m users, and the Phone Service dealt with 142,951 telephone enquiries. The Money Advice and Budgeting Service had 16,971 new clients during the year, and its Helpline dealt with 25,075 phone calls.

The report covers the first year of a three-year strategy to restructure and streamline the CIB's services. Programmes and partnerships in the service include Abhaile — the Mortgage Arrears Support Scheme, National Traveller MABS, the National Advocacy Service for people with disabilities, and the Sign Language Interpreting Service.
