Remembering the Twinning
Member of the European Parliament Stéphanie Yon Courtin is remembering today the first visit of a small group from Kilcullen in September 2018, to explore the possibility of a twinning with her Normandy town of Saint-Contest, writes Brian Byrne.
That resulted in an official twinning ceremony on St Patrick's Day of last year when, as then Mayor of Saint-Contest, she brought an official group to Kilcullen.
A return visit by an official Kilcullen delegation planned for April of this year had to be postponed due to coronavirus.
In a Facebook post today, Stéphanie says she hopes there will be that return visit 'soon'. She was elected as an MEP in May of last year.
