Covid-19 cases rate now available by Local Electoral Area
The Covid-19 Ireland Hub is now publishing the 14-day rate of cases by Local Electoral Area, providing the opportunity for a comparative analysis around the area where we live, writes Brian Byrne.
In the 14-Day Profile for the Newbridge LEA, which includes Kilcullen, the confirmed cases rate per 100,000 residents is currently 19.7, against the national rate of 52.8.
The Hub shows that in the neighbouring Naas LEA, the rate for the 14 days to 14 September is 33.2, in Kildare LEA 62.3, and in Athy LEA less than 5 confirmed cases.
Ed Note: These figures are historical over a 14-day period that is already five days further on. It would be inappropriate to use them as 'safe' or 'unsafe' zones, and everybody should continue to follow full Covid-19 protection protocols no matter where they live or visit.
