Two Kilcullen women in Businesswoman of the Year competition

Nichola Kennedy and Gail Murphy.
Nichola Kennedy, Kilcullen's optometrist, is among the four finalists in the Business Innovation Category of the Kildare Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2020, organised by Network Ireland, writes Brian Byrne.

Kilcullen entrepreneur Gail Murphy of Gails Rails is one of six finalists in the Emerging New Business Category.

In all there are six categories in the competition this year, and the focus is to reflect the resilience, strengths, capabilities and courage of Network Ireland's members in this time of crisis.

The interviews for applicants were at the end of July, following an online application process in which businesswomen filled out a detailed questionnaire. In all there are 14 finalists for the overall Kildare title. The winner will go forward to the national interviews on 7 September.
