The Komfort Kare Open Day at the company's new regional HQ premises in Market Square today was very well attended, writes Brian Byrne. The day included demonstrations of chair yoga and a sensory room, as well as a visit by a dementia simulator bus where people could experience a number of issues faced by those with dementia. There was also advice from the Kildare Fire Service on fire safety in the home, and a demonstration of Irish Sign Language by Darren Daly.
The company is an approved provider of non-clinical services for the HSE and is providing home-care for both HSE and private clients in the Kildare-West Wicklow area as well as Laois and Offaly. The new premises also has training facilities for care staff, and is actively recruiting further appropriately qualified personnell in this region.
CEO Brenda Kavanagh and local manager Laura Glynn and members of their specialist staff were on hand through the day to show everyone attending the facilities around and explain the services available.
The Diary conducted an extensive interview with the CEO and will post a full report about Komfort Kare in due course.
