How Hazel Gaynor wrote her latest book

With her latest book launching in Ireland tomorrow, in advance of UK and US launches, how local author Hazel Gaynor came to write The Bird in the Bamboo Cage is featured in this week's Kildare Nationalist.

The book is a novelised version of the real story of how a group of English and American schoolchildren and their teachers coped with being interned by the Japanese during WW2.

Hazel's previous books have been on the best-seller lists in the US and in this part of the world, and her latest can be acquired through local bookshops from tomorrow, including Woodbine Books in Kilcullen.
