Parking, pedestrian crossing, focus on Market Square

Kildare County Council is actively pursuing alternative parking solutions in the vicinity of Market Square, yesterday's meeting of the Kildare Newbridge MD was told, writes Brian Byrne.

In a report to a question by Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy, the Council's Public Realm Team said the the possible solutions will support and complement the Part 8 proposal for the Market Square re-development when that is formally launched.

The report also said the final design for the Square project is currently being revisited, based on feedback from the Transportation Department on the positioning and type of pedestrian crossing so far proposed.
