Do Lough Derg from wherever you are this weekend?
Starting at midnight tonight, Friday 26th June, could you do the Lough Derg Pilgrimage remotely? writes Niamh Traynor. In a letter dated 22/6/2020, the Lough Derg prior, Fr La Flynn, wrote that this year, sadly, the island will NOT be open to pilgrims.
Instead, he has granted permission for pilgrims to receive the same graces as they would on Lough Derg island by doing the three-day pilgrimage from wherever they are. All you need to do is log on to www.loughderg.live to register and follow along as if you were on the island.
The three-day fast starts at midnight tonight and ends midnight on Monday night. I am offering to print off a copy of the program and deliver it to your door if you are interested in joining in. Call me or text me your Eircode/address 086 1758458.
