Fly away, starlings

Like many a household at this time of the year, we have been hosts to new and growing families of starlings in our house eaves, writes Brian Byrne.

Well, some of these families have now flown, so the yard and cars won't be quite as spattered as they have been, and it's a little safer to hang out the clothes to dry.

These shots are of some of them taking a good look around the world from the roof last evening, just before they flew away.
