Concerns on Return to Work Safely Protocol? — contact Kildare Chamber today
County Kildare Chamber has asked that businesses in the county should relay any views they have on the new National 'Return to Work Safely' Protocol to the Chamber by close of business today, writes Brian Byrne.
Chamber CEO Allan Shine says Chambers Ireland will be in discussion with the Department of the Taoiseach this week in relation to the Protocol, and the concerns of business about it.
On behalf of Kildare Chamber, he welcomed the launch and publication of the Protocol, but warned that it comes with a 'further cost' to business, with the potential of the hire of new staff.
"The process involved will not be a simple one," he said in a statement today, adding that as businesses around the country plan for how they will adapt to operating during a pandemic, the Protocol will be an essential framework to enable that.
"Reopening a work place has now become more difficult with the new procedures. The pressure now is immense on business owners and the requirement for financial assistance is essential. Many businesses after this announcement will question the viability of reopening."
Mr Shine says that over the coming days and week Kildare Chamber will be running forums and webinars addressing members' concerns on the Protocol and how it applies to the business community in Kildare.
The 29-page RWSP document details steps to enable a return to work with reference to policies and procedures for proprietors, workers, customers, and structural requirements to be followed.
