Cllr calls for review of cycle and pedestrian plans for Kilcullen
Kilcullen is included in a request for a review of public realm plans for cycleways and pedestrian routes by Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy, to be discussed at a virtual 'briefing' of Kildare Newbridge MD councillors next Wednesday, writes Brian Byrne.
The briefing will be held by Zoom, and is the first such since Council meetings were suspended because of coronavirus restrictions. No decisions will be made on Wednesday, as regulations require representatives to be in the Council Chamber for those. It is planned to have a physical meeting in June.
Cllr McLoughlin Healy's cycle and pedestrian querie includes similar reviews in Newbridge, Monasterevin, Kildare and Rathangan. Her focus is on safety in a 'Covid and post-Covid world'.
She has also sent in queries to the Council on Urban Regeneration funding, bus shelter funding for Kilcullen, the Athgarvan Healthcheck, the Curragh Plains, and plans to help local businesses to stay open.
