Looking Back: The Great American Tea Party
This is another set of photos from the archives held by Nessa Dunlea, which were taken by myself in my early career as a photojournalist, writes Brian Byrne.
These are from a fundraising American Tea Party held in the Community Centre around the early 1980s.
Among the full house attendance were Sister Joan from CPC and Timmy Aspell (above), and Kitty Kearin and Jimmy Kearin (below).
My late Aunt Carmel, wife of the late Tommy Byrne, with my late brother Des in the background, and my brother Garreth, now living in Dromahair, on the right.
Finally "someone always has to clean up" with the late Pat Dunlea, and Miriam McDonnell.
Again, were you there?
(For the photographers: The camera was a Canon AE1, film 400 ISO Ilford HP5 Plus, and the paper printed on was Ilford Grade 3 glossy. I always printed with a strong contrast.)
