The event was a great success, organiser Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer said today, expressing her thanks to all who supported it.
She also told of her appreciation for guest speaker Susan Keogh of Newstalk, who noted the additional family responsibilities that women take on in addition to work-related ones.
“She reiterated that until we have a more balanced female representation at Government level, there can’t be real change,” Cllr O’Dwyer says. “It is important to celebrate the incredible women in our community, because without them we would be a much poorer society.”
The full attendance of guests were also entertained by local harpist Leah O’Sullivan.
