Rehearsals going well for Funny Money
Rehearsals for Funny Money are in full swing with Kilcullen Drama Group, which will be presenting the Ray Cooney play towards the end of next month, writes Brian Byrne.
The cast is a mix of the Group's veterans with some new blood which will help boost its circulation. They are Maurice O'Mahony, Esther Reddy, Dick Dunphy, Vivian Clarke, Fergal Sloan, Gerry O'Donoghue, Fiona Kelly and Joan Murphy.
The play is being directed by Eilis Phillips, and it is the first time it has been performed by the Group. Though Vivian Clarke recalls how the Group visited London in 1997 to see the play there. "Ray Cooney heard we were coming and he invited us backstage afterwards," Vivian says. He has in his possession a set of photographs from that visit.
The play will be performed from 23-26 April inclusive.
