Pollinator and Biodiversity meetings upcoming
The value of bird boxes, and what can be done to make home gardens biodiversity sustainable, are subjects to be covered by two events later this month, hosted by the Kilcullen Pollinator and Biodiversity Group, writes Brian Byrne.
On Saturday 22nd, there will be an interactive Bird Box Workshop conducted by Paddy Sheridan, and a talk on pollinators by Philip Strickland, at a meeting in the Town Hall starting at 3pm. The event is organised by Wild Kildare, and all local estates who have signed up to the Kilcullen Pollinator Plan 2020 will be given bird boxes during the afternoon.
On Wednesday 26th, there will be a meeting starting at 7pm, featuring Nuala Madigan of the Irish Peat Land Conservation Office and Louise Rankin from Moyleabbey Organic Farm, also in the Town Hall. The discussions will include all things composting, peatland conservation and will also give a great insight into organic non pesticide plant and vegetables gardening.
Everyone is welcome to both events.
