Kilcullen Drama Group AGM report

A well-attended AGM of Kilcullen Drama Group held last Thursday heard Chairperson Eilis Phillips thank the committee, members and all the team and reflected on both a sad and successful year for our Group, writes Joan Murphy.

We lost our friend, colleague and mentor Bernard Berney and we all spoke of his love of drama, his sharp, often cutting wit, kind words of encouragement and his energetic on-stage presence. He is missed.

Last year we ran two successful stage productions and plan similar this year. Readings have just taken place for our next comedy by Ray Cooney so watch the Diary and our Facebook page for both the dates and the updates.

Our entry in the Kilcullen 700 event earned us a merit and we ran a successful Drama workshop.

Membership numbers have increased and we welcomed some new faces to our group and some, let’s just say not so new, who will be returning to the stage in our next production.

Brian Byrne was thanked for his continued support and also John Martin who has helped us with every production.

Treasurer Nessa reported on our finances but warned of rising insurance and heating costs. We really need to harness some hot air from the stage!

Eilis Philips remains our Chairperson, Nessa Dunlea as Treasurer and Joan Murphy is Secretary.

Vivian Clarke remains our PRO with Harry Murphy our Social Media guru.

Hope to see you all at our next production 'Funny Money'.
