#GE2020: Getting closer to final tally

The Kildare South tally system is not updating its screens, so I'm grateful to RTE's team here for the latest position update, writes Brian Byrne.

With 93 of the 131 boxes tallied, it's now SF Ryan at 21.8pc, FG Heydon 17.1pc, LAB Wall 12.4pc, FF O'Loughlin 12.2pc, IND Berry 10.6pc, FF Doyle 8.3pc, IBD McLoughlin Healy 8pc, GP Maher 3.5pc, SD Hayden 3pc, AON Mhic Gib 1.6pc, and RI Ui Bhroin 1.4pc.

Looking briefly at the votes being checked before counting, a strong percentage of Suzanne Doyle's second preferences are going to O'Loughlin, while Sinn Fein and Cathal Berry seconds seem to be widely scattered.

Meanwhile, Sinn Fein have brought out the celebration banners.
