Weather: grey, cool, maybe some blue, call for smiles

It's the time of year when the countryside looks grey, and that's the kind of day we're going to have too.

A cloud ceiling likely to stay in place through to tonight. (Update in the morning: actually, maybe not quite as bad as forecast, we're seeing some patches of blue, through and behind the cloud.)

No wind to speak of, temperatures not getting above 7degC and then slipping sharply to a low of 3degC in the evening.

Light those smiles again to brighten things for everybody.
