Applications deadline for Kentucky student summer exchange
Applications for the 2020 Summer Student Exchange with Lexington in Kentucky, USA, are being invited by Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.
Under the annual scheme, ten students from Kildare are twinned with ten students from Kentucky, with financial support from the Council towards the exchange. A fee of €750 will be required from each participant.
The exchange is organised by the Council's Twinning Committee. Those whose applications are successful will be able to contact their 'twins' by social media in advance of staying in each others' homes this summer.
The participating students should be 16+, and each will be twinned with someone of similar interests.
The County Twinning Committee organises a programme of activity for the visitors and their local hosts while they are in Kildare.
Registering interest and obtaining an application form can be done by by emailing kildarestudentexchange@kildarecoco.ie or calling Ciara on 045 980660 before Monday 13 January 2020.
