Sarah Walshe to contest Seanad instead of Dail

Sarah Walshe, who was originally going to run in the Kildare South constituency for the Wives and Partners of the Defence Forces (WPDF) group, has withdrawn from the General Election in favour of Dr Cathal Berry who is running on a similar issue, writes Brian Byrne.

"I have teamed up with Cathal Berry so as not to dilute our Defence Forces vote," she told the Diary today. "I am now focusing on the Seanad elections, and Cathal on the Dail, to give our defence force families a voice in both houses."

She will be supporting and canvassing for Cathal Berry through the remainder of the #GE2020 campaign.
