Message to a red light crasher
This is a red traffic light, writes Brian Byrne. It means stop. If you're the driver of a Mercedes car which blatantly blew through it on Kilcullen's cross roads on Thursday just after lunch, and again this morning just after 10, hold up.
It was maybe coincidental that I was walking in the area on both occasions, or maybe this is a more constant occurrence.
Maybe you, driver, have an awful lot on your mind all the time, and don't notice the status of the lights.
Maybe you're colour blind? My dad was, but he knew that the red light was the one on the top.
I really don't care if you kill yourself in your hurry. But there are other drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians using the intersections where you crash the red lights. Including me.
I don't want you to kill or maim any of them. Or me.
