Councillor welcomes ice warning signs
Ice warning signs have been installed on the Brannockstown-Milemill Road by Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.
This follows strong representations by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer for the Council to follow the recommendations of a Coroner's Court in the case of a tragic accident on the road last year.
Cllr O'Dwyer says she is happy that the signs have been installed in advance of the coldest part of the winter. She is also seeking a lower speed limit on the road, and the use of non-skid surfaces.
The changes were recommended recently by a jury in a case related to a child's death in a traffic collision in February 2018.
