Winners given prizes at CU School Poster Competition 2019

Some of the winners at last night's event.
Children from seven primary schools in the area were presented with prizes last night for their artworks in the Credit Union Schools Poster Competition 2019, writes Brian Byrne.

The event at the Kildare Credit Union building in Kilcullen included contributions from schools in both the Kilcullen and Narraghmore branch areas.

The contributions celebrated in the Kilcullen schools were: 7 Years & Under — 1 Lochlainn Buckley, St Joseph’s Halverstown; 2 Daire Marshall, Scoil Bhride; 3 Bailey Conn, Scoil Bhride; Commended Kate Callanan, Scoil Bhride. 8-10 Years — 1 Mae Cowper Gray, Scoil Bhride; 2 Amy Byrne, Scoil Bhride; 3 Lauren Hunt, Scoil Bhride. 11-13 Years — 1 Della Cowper Gray, Scoil Bhride; Eileen O’Sullivan, Scoil Bhride; 3 Donnacha Beatty, Scoil Bhride; Commended Jai Yan Lin and Anna Williams, Scoil Bhride.

The awards to pupils in the Narraghmore branch area were: 7 Years & Under — 1 Orlaith Donaghy, St Laurence’s NS, Crookstown; 2 Danny Butler, SN Colmcillel Naofa, Moone; 3 Hannah Flood, St Laurence’s NS; Highly Commended Aoibheann O’Reilly, SN Colmcill Naofa. 8-10 Years — 1 Julia Sirbu, St Laurence’s NS; 2 Ciala Mac Seoin, Ballyshannon NS; 3 Claudia Treacy, Scoil Ide Naofa, Kilmead; Highly Commended — Milla Lucas, Scoil Ide Naofa; Special — Daniel Kealy, SN Colmcill Naofa. 11-13 Years — 1 Ailbhe Hennessy, SN Colmcill Naofa; 2 Keelin Dermody, SN Colmcill Naofa; 3 Nicole Brown, St Laurence’s NS; Highly Commended — Clodagh Flynn, SN Colmcill Naofa.

The prizes were presented by Pat Stafford on behalf of the Kilcullen Branch of Kildare Credit Union and Pauline Mooney for the Narraghmore Branch.

Seven posters go on to the next level of the national competition.
