Planning granted for Teach na nDaoine
The planning application for the Teach na nDaoine development has been successful, writes Brian Byrne.
The application by the Teach na nDaoine Committee sought permission for a new vehicular entrance to serve the existing development, and retention permission for the development as constructed for use as a community building.
Under the plan, the facility will have its own vehicular entrance from the main road, with access to six car parking spaces, one of which is an accessible space.
There are four conditions attached to the permission, none of which are outside normal requirements.
Earlier this year, the project organisers launched a new stage of fundraising with a 'buy a paving brick' scheme. The structure of the building, including a substantial extension to the original old dispensary, is complete.
