Ballyshannon 'no quarry' meeting tomorrow
The meeting begins at 8pm, and all from Ballyshannon and the surrounding communities are asked to attend.
The proposed quarry by Kilsaran Concrete will be discussed. The organisers will provide the community with information on how the quarry would affect daily life. Local residents have already said it will destroy the rural life of the area, and create a health hazard, spreading silica dust.
They also say the quarry is totally inappropriate in a close community with three schools and some 400 pupils travelling to and from them.
