'Mná Mná' storytelling and song tonight
A reminder that Triple Spiral Storytellers are starting their third year tonight, 10 September, with guest storyteller Órla McGovern and singer/song writer Niceol Blue in An Tearmann, writes Tim Ditchburn. The event is supported by Kildare County Council and Creative Ireland, and starts at 7.30pm.
Órla and Niceol will tell stories and sing songs where the central character, or topic, is a woman or female. Storytelling to make you think, laugh and sing with joy.
Órla Mc Govern is a storyteller, performer and writer based in the West of Ireland. She travels around the world regularly telling stories, performing and teaching workshops in improvisational theatre. She founded Galway's story night 'Moth and Butterfly'. She has written two storytelling books published by The History Press: 'Dublin Folk Tales For Children' and 'Wild Waves and Wishing Wells' - the latter will be released in Autumn 2019.
Niceol Blue is a singer, songwriter, writer, and storyteller living in Galway, She grew up in Pacific Northwest, an environment that shaped her unique style of music; a mix of blues, rock and folk. She has performed to audience acclaim, around the US and Europe. A published poet, Niceol has been described as “an exceptional singer-songwriter with powerful vocals”. She is a member of Moth and Butterfly storytelling group.
