Kilcullen Council work 'between two stools'
Kilcullen is 'falling between two stools' in terms of some Kildare County Council works, according to officials at last week's meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, writes Brian Byrne.
The comment arose in relation to a query from Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy, asking if there are plans to clear overgrown vegetation from the footpath on the Sunnyhill Road in the area of Cnoc na Greine?
Officials responded that the work is not on the current programme of works in the district. There are a number of queries on further works pending, the meeting was told, but there are no staff available at the moment to give these attention.
Cllr Rob Power asked if the Cnoc na Greine matter might already be on the programme of the Naas MD to which Kilcullen was previously attached. The answer was 'no', and resulted in the comment about 'falling between two stools' at the moment.
