Reforming Kilcullen First Responders mooted
The possible re-formation of a First Responders Unit in Kilcullen was the subject of discussion at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action.
Nichola Kennedy told those present that she had been approached by David Finnegan of the National Ambulance Service about the possibility.
Nichola was among a 25-strong group of volunteers who had been trained some years ago, but had disbanded as numbers decreased.
Anyone interested is asked to contact Nichola at her optometrist business in Kilcullen.
Volunteers would be trained in CPR (edited to remove an earlier reference to administering oxygen, which is no longer part of the programme).
If there is enough interest, volunteers would become part of a 24/7 roster, and would need to be available for call-outs.
