Progress on playground surfaces
Kildare County Council is to install a soft surface at two sections of Kilcullen’s playground, Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer told last week’s meeting of Kilcullen Community Action.
The councillor said she had received a commitment for this in relation to the climbing tower and the climbing roundabout, but that sand will have to remain under the zip-line ‘because any other surface could cause friction burn on contact’.
She also said that the Council will look at putting in a higher barrier on the railing parallel to the road to stop sand going onto the road.
Cllr O’Dwyer noted that it would take four to six weeks before the costing is completed.
