KIB Garden winners for Community Awards Night

This was agreed at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action which heard that there are nine gardens entered in this year's competition. Eoin Houlihan, who organises KIB, said seven of the gardens are in the town, the others in Old Kilcullen and Milemill.
It was decided that Ray Kelly and KCA chair Ann Cashman would lead the organisation of the Community Awards this year. Following some discussion on whether the format should be changed to categories for the awards, it was agreed that the previous format of seeking general nominations for people and groups who contributed to community life would be followed this year.
A previous suggestion that the Awards should only be held every two years was deferred, the view taken that this could be decided by the KCA group after the 2019 event.
