Agri-plastic waste collected at Kilcullen
This is some of the agri-plastic waste collected yesterday at the IFFPG Bring Centre event held at Leinster Marts, writes Brian Byrne.
It was the last in a series of such events held across County Kildare in the last two months.
The Bring Centres are operated by the Irish Farm Film Producers Group, which says that all farm plastics collected are converted into new products. These include refuse sacks, piping, damp proofing material, and garden furniture products.
Farmers pay to have their agri-plastics taken, at costs ranging from €5-€20 per half-tonne, depending on the product.
Typically, around 100 tonnes would have been collected an an event like yesterday.
