Public meeting on climate action strategy
A public meeting on Kildare County Council's Draft Climate Change Adaptation Strategy will take place this evening in the Solas Bhride Centre in Kildare Town, writes Brian Byrne.
The event is hosted by the Kildare Environment Network, Shamrock Spring, and The Cottage Market, Newbridge.
The Strategy is designed to be the primary instrument at local level to ensure a proper comprehension of the key risks and vulnerabilities of climate change.
It will be the process used to bring forward the implementation of climate resilient actions in a planned and proactive manner and will also ensure that climate adaptation considerations are mainstreamed into all plans and policies and integrated into all operations and functions of Kildare County Council.
The Solas Bhride meeting begins at 7.30pm.
The closing date for public submissions on the Draft Strategy in next Tuesday 9 July.
