Old bikes for Gambian schoolchildren
For anyone who has old bikes, still usable, that they want to dispose of, Kildare County Council has a scheme for a worthy cause, writes Brian Byrne.
The Council is working with Rotary International and the Prison Services to take old bikes, repair them and send them to Gambia so that school children who have a journey of five kilometres or more can get to school more easily.
Any such repairable bikes can be brought to Silliot Hill where there is a designated container.
