Midlands 50 Plus Expo
The Midlands 50 Plus Expo in Athlone on 16/17 July is an opportunity to have heirlooms and collectibles valued, writes Brian Byrne.
The event, which is free and also open to under-50s, will also feature Conor Pope providing advice on how to spend less and how to deal with the scourge of ‘customer service’.
Checking out family history, crochet and embroidery workshops are also part of the Expo, at the Hodson Bay Hotel. There will also be cooking demonstrations. A free shuttle bus will operate to and from Athlone Railway Station on the event days.
More than 50 exhibitors will be participating in the event, where there will also be free screening for blood pressure, hearing and vision.
