Community Tea Party cancelled

The Community Tea Party which had been scheduled for Sunday 21 July has been cancelled, writes Brian Byrne.

Planned as part of the Kilcullen 700 year-long celebrations, the event has been abandoned because of an apparent lack of interest from residents groups.

"It's probably in part due to a lot of people having their own holiday plans for these summer months, as well there being so many other things going on," says Derek Phelan, who had been working to organise it as part of the Kilcullen 700 Committee.

It is understood that a number of residents groups have organised their own summer events, but not on the original Tea Party date.
