Tracey seeks update on CCTV plans

The status of the technical specification being prepared for groups who wish to set up community CCTV is to be raised by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer at the Council's June meeting, writes Brian Byrne.

Cllr O'Dwyer is seeking an update on the progress of the work. Prior to her recent election, she hosted a meeting in Kilcullen on the issue of community CCTV as a means of curbing crime and anti-social behaviour.

Among the other motions on the agenda are a number relating to climate action. Councillor Naoise Ó Cearúil is seeking a declaration of a Climate Emergency by the Council; Cllr Suzanne Doyle is asking for a establishment of a Special Policy Committee on climate change; and Cllr Bill Clear is looking for a deferment of any decision to implement pay parking at public EV charging points until there are more of them in the county.

Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy is again asking that Council resolves to implement the webcasting of public meetings of the full Council in order to meet principles of participation, trust, accountability and transparency.

The meeting is scheduled for 2pm on Monday 24 June 2019 in the council chamber at Áras Chill Dara, Naas.
