So sad for Paris

It's just so sad tonight to see the Notre Dame Cathedral burning, writes Brian Byrne.

When I was last at the Cathedral, early on a Saturday morning in September 2014, it was the first time for years that I had been there when the front hadn't been covered in scaffolding, and I took the shot above and was very glad to do so.

The other photo is from the side, inside which is now totally destroyed.

I feel so very sad for Paris and the French people, and for all of us who have been privileged over the years to visit such a global icon.
