Refurbishment of Moanbane footpath
Tree roots on the footpath between Moanbane Park and Esker Lea may have to be cut in preparations for a resurfacing, those attending the most recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard, writes Brian Byrne.
Noel Clare made the observation after Antoinette Buckley said Kildare County Council intends to refurbish part of the path during this year. She was reporting on a meeting with the area engineer, and said the work would cost in the region of €40,000.
Ann Cashman agreed that the roots at Moanbane are a 'big trip hazard'.
Antoinette noted that the Council returned quickly after the meeting and cleared the path, cutting back verge encroachment. She also said that a submission would be made to provide a new footpath on the Sunnyhill Road to the Cnoc na Greine entrance.
She suggested the project could be carried out under a three-year plan.
